Why is it important to protect Curaçao’s marine ecosystem with a marine park?

Curaçao has an opportunity today, with a Marine Park Area, to protect the fringing reefs in Curaçao by limiting the damage caused in the past and to make a difference by restoring our pristine coral reefs that are some of the best in the Caribbean.

Without a Marine Park Area, the marine life that surrounds the Dutch Caribbean Island of Curaçao can be in great danger including the diverse economy that it supports.
